APU takes pride in hosting the ASEAN Data Science Explorers- National Finals in Malaysia 2017

Center for Research & Development of IoT (CREDIT) had hosted the ASEAN Data Science Explorers- National Finals in Malaysia 2017, on 31st October 2017 at the APU Campus.

The ASEAN Data Science Explorers competition is a data analytics competition to aims to enhance awareness and appreciation of the ASEAN community amongst ASEAN youths. With the theme “Today’s Youth for Tomorrow’s World”, the competition will allow all ASEAN youths to play a key role in tackling today’s social issues facing the region and help create positive change for a better future.

Using the SAP’s Analytical tool, the teams participated had worked over the past few months to deliver date-driven insights across six United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.

The judging panel comprised of four esteemed judges who evaluated the team presentations. The judges were Ms. Chan Sze Zest, Assistant Director, ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Division (ASCCD), MOFA]; Mr. Terrence Yong, Managing Director, SAP Malaysia; Ms. Maalini Ramalo, Senior Manager, DHRAA Malaysia and Prof. Dr. R. Logeswaran N. Rajasvaran, Professor, APU.

While the opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Ilan Asqolani, the project Manager for ASEAN Foundation-SAP Join Initiatives from ASEAN Foundation, Mr. Terrence Yong, Managing Director, SAP Malaysia spoken. Mr. Mohamed Ehsan Rana, Chair CREDIT from APU said a few words and was presented a token of appreciation as the host for the event.
